Cinderella open-air theatre for children. Fri 28th & Sat 29th August.
A perfect ten for Cinderella
Enchantment and romance abound with Heaton Park's open-air performance of Cinderella, which takes place over the August bank holiday weekend Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August.
Chapterhouse Theatre Company is celebrating its 10-year anniversary of its touring open-air theatre with the most famous and well-loved tale of Cinderella. A regular event for families with children, Chapterhouse Theatre performs each summer at Heaton Park and for the first time this year, the show has been extended to run over two days so that parents who work on weekdays now have the opportunity to attend this most spellbinding and magical experience by coming to the Saturday show.
The fairytale fun will commence at 3pm in the beautiful parkland outside Heaton Park's Dower House, which is the perfect setting for this enchanting tale of heroes and villains.
Milky-white, the pantomime cow and all his friends.will be there delighting families with sing-alongs, fairytale romance, magic pumpkins, perfect princes and the thrill of the ball, allowing children to lose themselves in this sparkling tale of friendship, fun and fairy godmothers.
Councillor Rosa Battle, Assistant Executive Member for Culture and Leisure said: "The Chapterhouse Theatre Company has been performing at Heaton Park for many years and I can't think of a better way for them to celebrate ten years than with everyone's favourite pantomime, Cinderella. The sing-alongs, dressing up and the sheer magic of it all will leave children captivated and I'm sure it will be a lovely way to spend a family bank holiday."
Cinderella is now coming to the end of its very successful national tour and is unmissable for any family with young children, who are encouraged to come along dressed up and join the characters in the fairytale parade during the interval.
