The Hidden Gem Garden Centre
The Hidden Gem garden centre is an old fashioned , traditional, garden
centre which concentrate on selling only home grown plants from our own
nurseries set within the Earl of Wilton’s old kitchen garden.
Relax in the gardens which where planted over
100 years ago. The Horticultural Centre was established within the 18th
century walled garden that once supplied fruit and vegetables for the
whole estate.
The brick walls create a warm micro climate for the cultivation of
crops and where used for supporting fruit and climbing plants.
Our staff now grow plants and flowers for the City's displays
and for sale to the public, there are also demonstration gardens open
to the public all year round and a base for the Friends of Heaton Park
who have their Coffee mornings on the 1st Sunday of the month from April to
September 11am – 2.30pm.
If the weather doesn't welcome you as enthusiastically as we
do please take a seat and enjoy some home cooking and delicious coffees
in the hidden gem , coffee shop, which nestles within the centre.
Why not come and spend some time with us, peruse our wears
and remember our highly trained staff are there to answer any questions
you might have. This is a garden centre you will fall in love with upon
your first visit, we guarantee.
