Friends of Heaton Park
The group was formed in 1992 to promote an interest in the care of the park and to act as a communication link between the park users and the Heaton Park management team.
Since its formation the group has progressed from strength to strength and thousands of pounds have been raised for projects within the park such as the Sensory Garden in the Horticultural Centre and the Interpretation Boards in the Lakeside Café. Our next major project will be the provision of boards around the Temple to identify the distant landscape.
We hold talks and social events during the winter months, and from April to September run fortnightly Coffee Mornings in the Horticultural Centre and organise outings to historic houses and interesting parks and gardens.
An occasional newsletter keeps members informed about our activities.
