Volunteering at Heaton Park
Many people get great enjoyment from Heaton Park. If you want to 'put something back' or 'make a difference' why not get involved by volunteering alongside like-minded people of all ages and backgrounds?
Volunteering can support the park by bringing lots of enthusiasm, skills and interests. At the same time learn and discover new skills too.
There are so many different reasons to volunteer, and everyone has their own reasons. However, here are some of the main benefits:
- Learn new skills
- Good for your C.V.
- Work alongside experts in their field
- Make new friends
- Knowing you're making a unique contribution to our work
- Counts towards an accreditied course or award.
We are always looking for people to come involved in the park and we have various opportunities through are groups or via the Park team.
We have lots of practical tasks like balsam bashing or pond clearance. We do conservation tasks and surveys of the wildlife. Volunteering can mean helping on the tramway or supporting guide tours around the hall. We have opportunities to work with animals at the farm centre or get be involved with park development with the Friends of the Park.
Volunteering is a great way to gain a different experience and to contribute to something you care about.
