The size of Heaton Park and its range of habitats creates a diversity of species within the park, some of which are rare. As a result Greater Manchester Ecology Unit has designated 3 sites to be of Special Biological Importance.

Over the years we have collected a table of the different species within Heaton Park these are listed below:

Hare, Rabbit, Fox, Weasel, Stoat, Deer, Mouse, Brown rat, Grey squirral, Hedgehog.
Bats:
