Wardens Activities
Heaton Park is lucky to have a team of dedicated Wardens whose role is to enrich and enhance visits to the park.
They regularly patrol and check safety and cleanliness standards and
act as community liaison encouraging local people to become more
involved in their park. They recently started an Astronomy Group,
open to all, which meets once a week through the winter months.
They also deliver Heaton’s education programmes, helping school parties
to get the most out of their visit to the park and they lead history
and environmental walks. In the school holidays they run the
popular Breakout sessions, giving 7 – 11 year olds the chance to learn
new skills while having fun. The Breakout activities include:
Horse Care, Orienteering, Mask Making, Pitch & Putt, Fishing,
Puppet Making and Leaf Art.
If you need to speak to a Warden you can call them direct on 0161 773
1085 X207, or 07990 504045, or email them on
