Heaton Park Ramblers Group - LATEST WALKS
Heaton Park Ramblers is a voluntary group of likeminded individuals who enjoy rambling at various locations across the North West of England. Most walks are between three and five miles and tend to have an incline, so eligibility to join this self-managed group is that individuals must be able to participate in walks classified as "moderate."
Heaton Park Ramblers was started in June 2008 and grew from an interest by people who attended, the Health Walks at Heaton Park. The group is led by Jacqueline, who trained at Heaton Park as a voluntary health walker.
The group meets fortnightly at the car park of the Three Arrows pub on Middleton Road near Jct19 M60 at 2.30pm, back at 6pm on alternate Sunday afternoons. In the winter the group meets at 1.30pm, back at 5pm.
Ramblers share cars and drive for approximately thirty minutes and each person pays the driver £2, or £3 if a bit further afield.
Walkers are asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear and are responsible for own food and drink. Please no dogs or children. People who come on the walks do so at their own risk. There is no membership, just come on the day.
This is a very sociable group and always welcomes new members
