Angling
The park offers fishing facilities for keen anglers. A permit can be obtained from the park’s host fishing club King William IV Angling Society. For further information and contact details see the Anglers Page in our Community Groups section.  If you just want to fish for the day, a day ticket at Heaton Park costs: £3 adult, £1 Junior (up to 16 years of age).  Payment will be collected on the day by the baliff, whilst fishing 'on the bank'.

Bowls & Croquet
Heaton Park has an impressive bowls pavilion with four flat greens boasting an international reputation and is a legacy from the Commonwealth Games 2002. These are used regularly for bowling and croquet competitions. Our championship standard greens are open to the public each Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon from April to the end of October. Football Pitches
Heaton Park has three adult size football pitches. A permit must be obtained before use. For further information please contact Jean Dowler on 0161 773 1085 ext. 204.

The Heaton Park Golf Centre is managed and operated on behalf of Manchester City Council by Mack Trading-Amenity Management. Mack Trading specialise in operating municipal facilities with a particular emphasis on strategic partnering and expanding the golf customer base. Mack Trading have demonstrated noteworthy results in delivering programmes attracting youngsters to the values of the game of golf who would normally be excluded for social of economic reasons.

The Championship Golf Course:
Designed by 5 times Open champion and founder of The Professional Golfers Association (PGA),  J. H. Taylor opened the course in 1912, which has since been the host venue of many professional and amateur tournaments, as well as supplying member of the general public with an outlet for their weekly golf fix.

This parkland course offers spectacular views over the Pennines and surrounding countryside, whilst providing a real test for golfers of all standards.

The signature hole is the 193 yard 11th, which was once described as "the toughest par-3 in England", by legendary professional Henry Cotton.

· Par 70 (5, 755 yards)
· Green Fees - Midweek:  £12.00 peak, £10.00 off peak, £10.00 Leisure pass holders, £7.50 twilight, £6.00 seniors (65+), £5.00 juniors.
· Green Fees - Weekend:  £15.00 peak, £10.00 off peak, (Concessions for seniors & juniors from 2pm)
· Discounts for Manchester City Council employees, and the emergency services.

Heaton Park Golf Centre is the ideal venue for a golf society day, which offers the best value golf packages, in a warm and friendly environment, with or without catering.

Par-3 pitch and putt course
Our 18 hole to scale par-3 course offers something for the whole family to enjoy.
This course caters for all ages, abilities, and standards, whilst offering all year round golf.
Providing a wonderful opportunity to hone your short game, why not bring the family and try the best pitch and putt course around?

Adult green fees start at £5.00 during the week, with concessions available for seniors, juniors and leisure pass holders.

Junior Golf Development Academy
Mack Trading-Amenity Management is dedicated to the development of junior golf at grass roots level, and the on-going Heaton Park Junior Golf Development Programme continues to enlist local schoolchildren, to enhance their golf skills from participation standard through to excellence.
Based on the US first tee programme, we aim to teach nine core life skills through the medium of golf (as seen on Channel M news).  

Heaton Park Tigers Junior Golf  Club  1st July 2007 to 31st March 2008.

Become a member of the junior golf club and receive a season ticket which is valid for play from 2pm to 6pm Monday to Friday (excl Bank Holidays). Please note this ticket is not valid on the park's Pitch and Putt course.   Membership is £50 with a special reduction for first 25 members £25. Running
The park is used regularly by local clubs for 5K cross country runs. They include Salford Harriers – find out more about this club on www.salfordharriers.com.

Active Zone
Work is ongoing to develop a Active Zone in the St Margaret’s area of the park. This will include a number of multi-sports areas (focussing on five-a-side) and Tennis courts, to further deliver City Council Objectives.
