The Animal Centre is open:

The Farm Centre/Stables Courtyard opens daily from 0900 to 1800.

Meet the animals:

JADE THORNTON - A Guernsey Heifer
HEATHER - A Beef Shorthorn Cow
PICACHU, MANICHU & ICEMAN - Our 3 Alpacas
BORIS & HORACE - Kune Kune Pigs
KATRINA - Our Saanen Goat
CAMILLA & CHARLES (and their ducklings) - Call Ducks
GORDON - Chinese Gander Goose

We have a number of RABBITS, GUINEA PIGS and POULTRY.

We also have a flock of HEBRIDEAN SHEEP, which bring a flavour of the wild Scottish moors.

There is also a themed play area in the Animal Centre.

You may be lucky enough to spot a PEACOCK up a tree or proudly strutting around the Stables Courtyard.

Out in the Park is our pair of HIGHLAND CATTLE, with their long horns, can only be viewed from a distance. You will spot them with their eye-catching, long rusty red coats in one of the fields.

Horse Riding
If you would like to see Heaton Park on horseback you can book a riding session with the Stables Manager Steve Foley. Call him on 0161 798 6106, please note that this office is closed every Friday.  The cost is £9.70 per hour. The Stables also runs a livery service and Steve can also help you with information about that.  

Horse riding is available during:

Winter: 
Saturday – Thursday 10am – 3.30pm
Summer: 
Saturday, Sunday, Monday Wednesday & Thursday 10am – 3pm;
Tuesday 1pm – 7pm.

The Stables is closed every Friday throughout the year.
 
Donkey Rides
On a visit to the park you will see our herd of donkeys resting out in a paddock, or busy working taking children for short rides in the park. If you are visiting with a group of young children, contact us in advance and arrange some donkey rides.
